Allyne LaísDecember 2024
Anápolis - GO.
Curatorial Direction – Joardo Filho
Production – Danilo Costa and Andreza Rigo
"On the street, I developed the habit of seeking out poetry, of finding beautiful scenes, hidden details, colors, and shapes that no one else is noticing. It began as an exercise in my architecture class—‘Notice something new that I’d never seen before on my way’—and by the time I realized it, I already had a decade’s worth of records documenting an Anápolis that, in part, no longer exists and is constantly changing. CENTRALL is a summary of this collection displayed in a public square and an invitation for the people of Anápolis to do the same exercise of finding poetry in everyday life." - Allyne Laís
With degrees in graphic design and architecture and urban planning, Allyne Laís is a photographer who has been documenting daily life in the traditional downtown area of Anápolis for about ten years.
This archive, carefully built by the artist over time, forms the basis of the CENTRALL project, an initiative that has occupied public spaces in the city center with Allyne Laís’s original photographs, including Praça Americano do Brasil and Praça Bom Jesus.
A collaboration between Barranco Ateliê and the CENTRALL project proposed presenting a selection from this archive in the form of an exhibition, followed by a discussion and a screening of the project’s virtual gallery on Instagram.
